The Worst, the Better and the Lesser of Two Evils: Some Thoughts on Revolution and Literature

When it is identified as such, the worst turns into the lesser of two evils, into something that is better than the worst. This thesis will be developed in the context of an inquiry into the relationship between law, literature and revolution.
Hannah Arendt’s “Eichmann in Jerusalem” and Maurice Blanchot’s essay on literature and the right to die will serve as guiding threads.
